Mandatory linking of PAN and Aadhaar by 30th September, 2021
As per section 139AA of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (‘Act’), every person who has been allotted a Permanent Account Number (‘PAN’) and is eligible to obtain an Aadhaar number must link their PAN with Aadhaar.
The due date to link PAN with Aadhaar is extended to 30th September, 2021, post which, PANs not linked with Aadhaar will become inoperative.
Inoperative PANs will attract higher rates of TDS / TCS and may also restrict various banking transactions. In order to enjoy seamless banking, kindly link your PAN with Aadhaar. You may visit the Income Tax department’s portal at
